Privacy policy
What clonk does with your data, in plain words. Last updated 26 October 2026.
Who runs clonk
clonk is a personal assistant built and run by Jordan Rippon, an individual developer. It isn't offered to the public: the only people using it are the developer and anyone he invites. For questions about this policy or your data, use the developer contact email shown on Google's sign-in screen for clonk.
What clonk collects
- What you say to it: your messages, the files and photos you send, and clonk's replies.
- What it remembers: short notes it keeps so it can help you better, such as a renewal date or how you like things done. You can see and remove these in the app.
- Accounts you connect: when you connect a Google account, clonk gets your email address and permission to use Gmail and Google Calendar on your behalf (see below).
Google user data
If you connect a Google account, clonk asks for these permissions:
- Your email address, to show which account is connected.
- Gmail, to search and read your email when you ask it to or a task you set up needs it, and to send an email you've approved.
- Google Calendar, to check your events when a task needs them, and to add an event you've approved.
How clonk uses this data:
- Only to do what you ask, or what you've set it up to do for you. It doesn't read your mailbox in the background or copy it in bulk.
- It never sends an email or adds an event without showing you exactly what it will do and getting your approval.
- It doesn't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
- It doesn't use your data to develop, improve or train AI models.
- To write a reply, clonk sends the parts of an email or event it needs to the AI model provider you've chosen (for example OpenAI or DeepSeek). That's used only to answer the request at hand.
- People don't read your Google data, except when you ask for help with a problem, to keep the service secure, or when the law requires it.
clonk's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where it's kept, and for how long
- Your conversations, clonk's notes and your connected accounts are stored on a private server run by the developer. The server is reachable only over a private network.
- The keys that let clonk use a connected account are encrypted on that server. They never stay on your phone.
- Excerpts of an email or event clonk read for you can end up in your conversation history, and stay there until you delete them.
- When you disconnect an account in the app, its keys are deleted straight away.
Your choices
- Disconnect any account from the plugins screen in the app.
- Revoke clonk's access to Google at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Ask the developer to delete your conversations, notes and connected accounts. It will be done within 30 days.
Changes
